How to migrate a BricsCAD network license to a new server

Steps required to migrate a BricsCAD network license to a new server:
  1. Revoke the current license activation from the license holders account on the Bricsys website.
  2. Install the network license server manager on the new server and activate your license. See Setting up a Windows network license server
     for more details.
AlertFollowing install of the new server, immediately set a password to the web portal. This is an important step, as the server will shutdown after 10 mins if you don't set a password. See Setup RLM Login for more details.
    1. Shutdown the license manager on the old server.
    2. Check that BricsCAD is able to run on client machines, with the license served from the new license manager.
      Notes
If you're running an antivirus/firewall application on the server, then you may need to make an exception for the RLM application to allow it to communicate with the network.

On the client machines you may need to update the server name in the license settings to point it to the new server.
    3. Assuming that the license manager on the new server is working, then you can now uninstall the license manager from the old machine and delete any .LIC files from the installation folder.
Taking this approach allows you to switch back to the old server if you strike any issues with getting things working on the new server. The main thing to avoid is having both network license managers running at once, it will cause conflicts and is also a breach of the EULA.
