About
Users of Microsoft's Edge browser may see trust messages when downloading files from the internet. This is because the Edge browser uses Microsoft Defender SmartScreen to scan downloads, and flag files that it deems suspicious. For BricsCAD users this message will most frequently appear when a new release or update is made available.
Alternative web browsers, such as the chrome browser don't block users from downloading in this way.
Steps to download
Firstly always check that you're downloading from the official Octave (formerly Bricsys) website.
If you get a trust message downloading, then move your mouse over the download and select the more actions button that appears
Then select the Keep option
A further message will display to ask if you're sure about downloading. Select the Keep anyway option from the Delete drop down.
Some organisations may have disabled these download options for there users. If these aren't available to you, then you will have to contact your IT administrator for assistance.
